Charity appeals for donations to help flood victims in Pakistan

CHRISTIAN charity Blythswood Care in Ireland is asking local people to support its 'Buckets of Love' campaign to help those stricken by the serious flooding in Pakistan.

The charity which has a base on the Templepatrick Road in Ballyclare is sending donations to Pakistan to aid those whose homes and livelihoods have been completely destroyed by the spreading floods .

“We work closely with our partners in Pakistan and have sent out cash donations to make up ‘Buckets of Love’ to help those who have lost their home and possessions,” said a spokesperson for the charity.

“Buckets of Love consist of a plastic bucket filled with practical items for people whose lives have been devastated by disaster. We can make up a bucket for about 9 to 10 each in Pakistan - less than half the price of making them up in the UK - with no transport costs if made up in that country.

“Our partner Adnan Sandhu of Pakistan Sunday School Ministry (PSSM) has made up and distributed hundreds of filled buckets for us in the last two years, to many victims of disaster in Pakistan.”

“Please respond now to help re-build the lives of those so badly affected by this disaster.”

Donations may be made online through the charity’s website www.blythswood.org/bucketsoflove - and please do gift aid the donation if you are a tax payer. Alternatively, call 0845 456 9460 or send a cheque to Blythswood Care, 93 Templepatrick Road, Ballyclare, BT39 9RQ.
