Charity awarded£442k for kids care

A LONDONDERRY charity has been awarded £442k to develop children and young people’s services in the city and beyond.

Kinship Care NI champions the cause of family members who look after child relatives with very little support from the state.

It’s headed by local mother Jacqueline Williamson.

Foyle MP Mark Durkan said: “I am delighted for Jacquie Williamson and Kinship Care NI who have been awarded this substantial funding from the Big Lottery to continue their important work in Derry and to help raise awareness of the huge contribution that kinship carers make.”
