Charity cheque at Bridge Bar

IN the summer, customers of the Bridge Bar and residents from Dunloy and the surrounding area joined together in a fun packed day of activities, to raise much needed funds for local charities, including mental health organisation, Aware Defeat Depression.

Head of Fundraising for Aware Alison Smyth collected £2,750 from Alain Campbell, Bar Manager, and said: “We are delighted to receive this cheque towards our recovery programmes for people with depression. The recent tragic case of Gary Speed has drawn people’s attention to the link between depression and suicide and this cheque will help us save lives here in Northern Ireland.”

Aware Defeat Depression provide 20 support groups across the country including one in Coleraine. For full details of all support groups visit the charity’s website www.aware-ni.org For information and support call their helpline on 08451202961 from 9am to 1pm weekdays.
