The event was organised by Councillor John Finlay.

A cheque for the amount was presented by Councillor Finlay to the vice-chair of the Ballymoney branch, Hugh Elliott, in the clubrooms and was attended by the former Mayor of Ballymoney, Alderman Bill Kennedy, Sam McClements, who helped with the organisation, and several other members of the RBL.

Mr Elliott thanked Cllr Finlay for his efforts and said the money would be used to support ex-service men and their families.
