Charity choir seeks members

Local people are encouraged to join a newly formed choir - Sound of Solace - which has been set up to raise money for Action Cancer and inspire those affected by cancer.

Rev Elizabeth Hanna, from St Nicholas’ Parish Church on the Lisburn Road, Belfast, has kindly offered Evelyn Annett the choir founder and cancer survivor, the use of the church for practices.

Practices will be on Tuesdays at 7.45pm starting August 27 with a view to a performance at the end of October to raise funds for Action Cancer.

If you have helped and supported a friend or family member with cancer; or if you are involved in the medical profession and dealing with cancer sufferers, then you are welcome to join. Everyone is welcome - sufferers, survivors and supporters.

Equally, it is not important if you haven’t had previous experience of singing in a choir. If you can hold a tune and would like to be involved, then you will be made more than welcome. Music will be of easy listening type, nothing too difficult. The songs will all be well known.

If you would like to be involved, contact [email protected] or [email protected] for more details and to give an idea of the numbers
