Charity concert to boost Action Cancer group

A CHARITY musical concert will be held on Wednesday, November 7 at 7.30pm in the Head of the Town Church hall.

Featuring local talent and artistes, it promises to a be a great night, and all funds raised on the night will go to the Larne Action Cancer support group.

Taking part will be Laharna Accordion Group, Roddensvale School choir, Harmony, Paul Sexton, Chloe Davison, Sam Brodison and Thomasena Hall - all of whom have graciously offered to entertain to raise funds for this very worthwhile cause. John Davison will be compere for the occasion in his usual entertaining style.

The Larne Action Cancer Support Group was set up five years ago and organises various fundraising events throughout the year with all monies raised going directly to Action Cancer, whose motto is ‘saving lives, and supporting people and their families’.

Action Cancer provide a free breast check for women aged 40-49 and over 70, a men’s health MOT, the big bus which tours the country and very importantly health promotion, counselling, research, complementary therapies for anyone has or has had cancer, and also their families.

The charity relies heavily on public and business donations as all services as all services are offered free of charge.

It costs £3.2 million per year to provide all these very essential services for all those affected by cancer.

The Larne Action Cancer Group is very grateful to everyone who has supported their fundraising so far and extends a very warm welcome to all to go along on November 7 and enjoy a very informal and entertaining musical evening.

A donation of £5 would be gratefully received at the door.
