Charity Grease night is a super success

THE recent Grease themed ‘Pink Ladies Movie and Meal Night’ organised by Ed’s Bar and Grill and Lisburn Omniplex has raised £2,000 for the Ulster Cancer Foundation’s (UCF) Think Pink! breast cancer awareness campaign.

The special fundraising event had a fantastic turn out where Pink Ladies enjoyed a screening of the movie Grease, a three course meal at Ed’s, a raffle and after-dinner dancing to hits from the movie.

Suzi McIlwain, Community Fundraising Officer, UCF said, “Thank you to everyone who came along to support the ‘Pink Ladies Movie and Meal Night’. Special thanks to Frank McAlinden, Clare Kerstens and all the staff at Ed’s Bar and Grill for hosting the event.

“Breast cancer is now the most common form of cancer in local women. Over 1,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and annually around 300 die because of the disease. All proceeds from the event will help UCF continue to provide a wide range of care and support services, free of charge, to breast cancer patients and their families in Northern Ireland.

“We are delighted that the event was such a great success and we hope to be involved in more ‘Pink Ladies Nights’ in the future!”
