Charity to open second Lisburn store in run-up to Christmas

The charity’s Katherine Young said: “We are in the process of securing new staff but as always we rely heavily on volunteers and to this end we are currently seeking to hear from anyone wishing to help out with our new venture.

“If you have a spare few hours a week and want to help support Northern Ireland’s leading local cancer charity, meet new people and learn new skills get in touch.

“We would love to have you as part of the team.”

Action Cancer operates 17 stores across Northern Ireland and has been rebranding stores and opening new boutique outlets across the country, recently opening stores in Bangor and Lurgan.

“With income exceeding one million pounds last year and a very successful store already operating in Lisburn it was decided,” said Katherine, “to open additional premises to help raise further funds in order to support services offered in Action Cancer House and on board our mobile unit, the Big Bus.”
