Chic, presented by Celtronic in association with Chibuku, was one of the smash hits of the City of Culture year with their sell-out concert at The Venue 2013 last month. Tickets for the return show on October 31, which was only announced earlier this week, went on sale at 9.30am today at the Culture Company box office at the Millennium Forum, were completely sold out by lunchtime.

A spokesman for Celtronic said: ‘We always knew that bringing back Nile Rodgers and Chic was going to be popular, but we never expected the show to sell out as quickly as it did. Everyone who saw them at The Venue in July said it was the gig of the year and nobody wanted to be disappointed second time around.

‘Halloween is one of the biggest nights in the city and the perfect night to bring them back. It’s going to be a 70s disco themed party and it’s going to be another wonderful night.’
