Child sexting advice campaign launched

Not enough is being done to protect young people online, an East Antrim MLA has claimed.

Ulster Unionist Assembly member Roy Beggs has urged all teachers, parents and young people to check out the ‘Think U Know’ child sexting advice campaign which has been recently launched.

Explaining that sexting is the sending of sexually explicit messages primarily between mobile phone users, Mr Beggs said the advice initiative was a welcome development.

He added: “With the recent tragedy of a young person being drawn in and then blackmailed by international criminals, this is an aspect of the internet we all should be aware of.

“Information can be found at www.thinkuknow.co.uk, and I would encourage everyone to visit the website.”
