Children '˜away with the fairies' at enchanting event in Legg Park

Children were taken on an enchanting journey along a fairy trail during a magical family fun day in Mid and East Antrim.

The ‘Believe! Fairy Fun Day’ took place at Legg Park in Carrickfergus on Saturday 1 April.

Youngsters were on the lookout for fairies within the woodland and enjoyed a range of fun-filled activities, including making fairy crafts and storytelling.

The experience encouraged young people to get outdoors and was also aimed at promoting the area’s woodlands as great places for families to visit.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, Audrey Wales MBE, said: “The Fairy Fun Day attracted visitors from throughout Mid and East Antrim and was a wonderful way of encouraging families to enjoy the magnificent woodlands on our doorstep.

“The children had a brilliant day taking part in the range of activities laid on and were told of the importance of protecting our wooded areas.” Saturday’s free event was organised by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council.
