It promises to be an extra special event, as it’s the charity’s 20th anniversary.

Following on from the hugely successful and highly entertaining ‘Wedding Event’ last year, when good friends Richard Moore the founder and Director of Children in Crossfire pretended to get married to his long-time comic friend May McFettridge, the Anniversary Ball will be another night to remember.

The evening will be a chance for supporters to share in the amazing achievements of the local charity and to really understand how the city’s support has changed the lives of thousands and thousands of other people less fortunate than ourselves throughout the world.

John Ryan, head of fundraising said: “We are very excited about the event, as it’s an opportunity to bring together our valued supporters to thank them for their support and commitment throughout the last 20 years.

“It gives us the chance to explain the key achievements, from the early work with child soldiers in Serra Leone, to the life saving work during the devastating famine in Malawi, in 2002, where we able to support a quarter of a million people, to the present highly focused and results-based programme in Tanzania and Ethiopia.”

The extremely talented Peter Corry will perform as special guest for the evening.
