Children really dig new dinosaur exhibition

KIDS and adults alike got the chance to learn about prehistoric life up close at the launch of an exciting new dinosaur exhibition in Larne Museum last Wednesday.

The Ballad of Big Al tells the story of a 145 million-year-old Allosaurus skeleton, which was discovered in Wyoming in 1991. Nick-named Big Al, it proved to be one of the most complete dinosaur skeletons ever found.

Big Al was the star of his own Walking With Dinosaurs TV special back in 2001, which explored how this fierce predator from the Jurassic era may have live and died.

And the new exhibition at Larne Museum offers local people the chance to find out more about this extraordinary dinosaur and the time he lived in, as well as explaining some of the science and technology behind the highly successful Walking with Dinosaur programmes.
