Choir of St Anthony's PS sing at special Light Up a Life ceremony

Lord Mayor, Councillor for Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council Garath Keating hosted a Light Up a Life Illumination Ceremony in Craigavon Civic Centre on behalf of the Southern Area Hospice Services, recently.

There was an excellent turnout from members of the public who enjoyed the singing provided by the choir from St Anthony’s Primary School, Craigavon.

Also attendikng the event were members of the Hospice Friends Support Group, Rev Graham Stockdale, Hospice Chaplain and Siobhan McArdle, of the Hospice Fundraising group.

At Southern Area Hospice Services they understand how difficult Christmas can be for those who have lost a loved one; it is important to remember them and this is why they organise their special ‘Light Up A Life’ Christmas campaign.

The campaign centres around the Christmas tree which is illuminated with hundreds of little white lights.

Each little light represents a life, someone’s child, a mother, father, brother or sister, each one special to those who have loved them.

Everyone taking part will receive a special Light Up A Light Christmas card for you to keep or pass on to a family member, and your light will shine down from our tree all over the Christmas period.

Two thirds of donation at the Southern Area Hospice funding comes from donations.

The next illumination event will be held at St John’s House, Newry on Thursday, December 15 at 7.30pm.
