Christ Church to host second concert in Music in May series

Lisburn’s Christ Church Parish will host the second of two lunchtime concerts on Tuesday (May 27) as part of its annual Music in May celebration.

The concert will see one of Northern Ireland’s finest violinists, Alan McClure, perform a selection of classics – from The Ashokan Farewell to his arrangements of hymn tunes, including Amazing Grace.

Alan is no stranger to Christ Church and on this occasion he will be accompanied by Elizabeth Bicker.

The concert takes place at 1.15pm and will last approximately 30 minutes.

Admission is free although retiring donations would be gratefully appreciated.

The Christ Church choir will be serving lunch from 12.15pm on the day of the concert, with salads, desserts and refreshments available for £6.

“A great chance to enjoy a time of fellowship before a musical treat,” a spokesperson said.

“In light of previous demand for lunches, early booking is advised and can be done by signing the sheets in the church porch or by contacting Iris in the Parish Office on 028 9267 3271.”
