Christian Aid Week in Banbridge

Christian Aid Week will be held in Banbridge next week from May 11 until May 17.

Last year, a house to house collection carried out in the Banbridge district during Christian Aid Week raised almost £10,000.

Thanks to that magnificent effort, and similar efforts across the country, many more people throughout the world can look forward to a future free from fear and poverty. In some of the toughest places in the world, Christian Aid is helping people caught up in conflict to get the basics: medical care, water, food, shelter.

By coming together this Christian Aid Week people in the Banbridge district can all help give people across the world a life free from fear.

The week will be launched locally at a united Christian Aid service to be held in Banbridge Methodist Church on Sunday May 11 at 6.30pm.

Ministers from the local churches will be taking part, and everyone from throughout the community is warmly invited to attend. During the week, from May 11 until May 17, a band of dedicated volunteers, armed with the familiar red and white Christian Aid envelopes, will undertake the annual house to house collection around Banbridge.

Over the years local residents have been very loyal in their support of this very worthy cause, and that support is greatly appreciated by Christian Aid.
