Christians unite for civic prayer event in Larne

A service in Larne to mark a week of prayer for Christian unity has been held at Larne Leisure Centre’s McNeill Theatre.

The event was organised by the Tuesday Group and led by its chairman, Rev. Dr. Ivan Hull.

The theme for this year’s service focused on St John’s Gospel chapter four, which is the encounter of Jesus with the Samaritan woman at the well.

Readings, prayers and an address based on this theme were given by Rev Fiona Forbes, minister of Cairncastle Presbyterian Church

A special part of the service was provided by pupils, representing the post-primary schools in Larne borough, who read passages from St John’s Gospel.
