Christmas evening ofGospel Praise

Now an annual event, an ‘Old Time’ Christmas Evening of Gospel Praise will take place on Saturday (November 28) at Lisburn’s Market Street CWU Mission Hall.

The event will feature well-known Bluegrass/Country Gospel and Ulster Scots singers, the Thompson Brothers, Graham and Mark, as well as former club singer turned Country Gospel singer Parker Donnelly.

The younger generation will be represented by 18-year-old award-winning bagpipes player Joshua Truesdale, accompanied on keyboard by his mother Pamela, and 19-year-old ‘Southern Gospel’ singer Hannah Mitchell.

CWU musicians Mavis Ross and Dorothy Smyth will accompany the singing on keyboard and piano accordion.

The Chairman for the occasion will be Evangelist Jonathan Reid from Kells, who will also bring close the service with an a epilogue, ahead of a Christmas buffet supper.

The evening is free of charge but a freewill offering will be taken for the work of the Mission Hall.

The service starts at 7.30pm and those planning to attend are advised to come early to secure a seat.
