Christmas theme for Macosquin WI members

COUNTDOWN to Christmas was the theme for the November meeting of Macosquin WI.

Newly elected President, Georgina Henry welcomed those in attendance and a new member, Mrs Margaret Biggart.

The theme - Countdown to Christmas saw three of the members demonstrating a different idea of a Christmas tree decoration.

Vera Kennedy made a sweet tree mounted in a pot, Rose Watson created a fabric tree with embellishments mounted in an old picture frame and Anne McKane demonstrated a Christmas tree with evergreen plant material in cone shaped oasis decorated with pine cones and natural ornaments.

After a delicious supper, a quiz about television shows was enjoyed by members.

The competition for a decorated gift bag was won by Joyce Allen. Eileen Richmond and Gladys Wallace came second and third respectively.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 12 and it will be the Christmas Party.
