Church Road development proposal refused

LOCAL councillors have welcomed a decision by Planning Service to turn down an application to build six houses and six apartments on a site at Church Road in Glengormley.

The application by C. McAuley for the development at 104 - 108 Church Road was refused on the grounds that it would cause “unacceptable damage to the local character, environmental quality and residential amenity of the area.”

Planners have confirmed that there were 18 objections to the proposed project.

The refusal decision has been welcomed by aldermen Paul Girvan, Nigel Hamilton and John Scott.
