Church service and parade

The Royal British Legion, Strabane branch, are holding a WW1 Commemoration parade and church service in Christ Church, Bowling Green, Strabane on Sunday, June 22 at 3.30pm.

The parade will assemble at the Presbyterian Church car park on Derry Road, at 2.15pm, inspection of those on parade will take place at 2.30pm, moving off at 3pm , led by the John Sayers Memorial Accordian Band. The church service will be conducted by Rev Mark Lennox, minister of Christ Church.

En route to the church the parade will stop at the War Memorial on Derry Road, where a wreath will be laid by the officers of the Royal British Legion. After the church service a return parade will take place back to the Presbyterian church car park.

This parade and church service is open to all members of the community and organisations and everyone will be made very welcome.

The Strabane branch of the Royal British Legion would make an appeal for all organisations and members of the public to come along and take part and to show their support for this commemoration.

People are asked to remember that those who fought and died did so that we like the rest of the world could live in freedom and peace and have a better future for all of mankind.
