Church support for annual Carol service

Clergy from three of the main churches in Ballymoney met in the town last week to help promote the forthcoming Carols Together Event which takes place this year on Monday, December 9.

The Rev. Fr. Francis O’Brien, Our Lady and St. Patrick’s, Rev. Andrew Sweeney, St. Patrick’s and Rev. Gareth McClean, First Ballymoney were joined by Ballymoney Borough Council officer, Johnny Donaghy, outside the Christmas Tree in High Street to lend their support.

The service will start at Ballymoney Methodist Church at 7 p.m. where a large crowd is expected to gather in what is it’s 14th annual year.

Mr. Donaghy from the Council says he is more than happy with the support he has received from the local churches.

“Although not all were present for the photocall, they sent their apologies and have promised suppport,” Mr Donaghy said.

The service will start at the Methodist church and move to Our Lady and St. Patrick and then on to the Church of Ireland before finishing at First Ballymoney where seasonal refreshments will be served.

Mr Donaghy feels it would be adviseable for everyone taking part to wrap up against the weather.
