Cigarettes stolen in pub robbery

Detectives have issued an appeal for information following a robbery at the Crown and Shamrock bar on the Antrim Road on Wednesday, September 10.

A number of packets of cigarettes were stolen in the incident, which happened at around 1.25pm.

Detective Inspector David Skelly said: “A man described as aged between 18 and 25, of average height and wearing a dark grey hooded Adidas jacket and protective eyewear, leapt over the counter in the premises and took a number of packets of cigarettes. He then ran off when the alarm was raised. He was then seen heading in the direction of Rogan Manor.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Newtownabbey CID on the non-emergency number 101, or if someone would like to pass information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
