In a statement the Strathfoyle Community Association (SCA) said: “ It was estimated in 2008 that the population of Strathfoye‬ which is classed as a village has 2,011 residents with over 32 per cent being children under the age of 16.

“A community neglected for far to long and this recent decision is the straw that broke the camel’s back. Strathfoyle residents will not be left waiting for another 25 years for a play park when resources are poured into other areas.”
