City council launches a new schedule for 2012/13

LISBURN City Council’s Economic Development Unit recently launched the 2012/2013 schedule for the Lisburn Entrepreneurs Network and InterAct, two of its business networking forums.

Lisburn Entrepreneur Network (LEN) is a free networking event, which takes place on the last Thursday of every month for small sized businesses in Lisburn. Now in its fourth year, the recently launched 2012/2013 LEN schedule promises yet another year of quality speakers, and practical information and advice to local businesses.

InterAct is also a free networking forum aimed at Female Entrepreneurs based in Lisburn. InterAct was launched in March of this year and runs on a quarterly basis. September’s InterAct was on the topic of ‘Coaching and Mentoring for Female Entrepreneurs’ with guest speaker, Michelle Darcy, Personal Performance Coach. The next InterAct event will take place on January 17 on the topic of ‘Social Entrepreneurship’ with guest speaker Joanne Stuart of Attrus Ltd.

Alderman Jim Dillon, Chair of the Council’s Economic Development Unit commented, “Lisburn City Council is delighted to see both LEN and InterAct going from strength to strength, thanks to the support and buy in from the local companies who attend each session. The Council recognises that networking events such as these are vital to provide a local forum for small businesses to meet their fellow peers and share experiences, as well as learning about key areas and topics which are relevant to their business.”
