City employers are mostlyhappy with NW jobs fairs

Twenty-six companies that took part in a jobs fair in the Millennium Forum last year were satisfied with how the event was run, with the only complaints relating to the feng shui in the venue.

According to a Department of Employment of Learning (DEL) survey of the companies that took part in the fair in September 2013, it met all of the employers’ expectations.

Many, such as Allstate NI, for example, were extremely pleased with the event.

According to an appraisal Allstate reported: “Event well presented and good venue. This is a great event, good number of people visiting the stand.”

TK Maxx also said the event was “very successful.” All firms involved at the event, which featured 350 jobs and was attended by 2,146 people, were complimentary. However, there were some minor complaints, mostly related to layout and spacing.

GEL and Fusion suggested: “If possible keep the queues away from other stands, this made it difficult for stands to be seen as hidden by queues for other companies.” 8over8 also felt it would have been better if the stands had been more spread out.

There were other concerns, however. Kainos would have liked the event to have been promoted more to final year students at university.
