City Grand Lodge election of officers

THE quarterly meeting of the City of Londonderry Grand Orange Lodge took place on Saturday, November 2, in the Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall, Londonderry, at 2pm.

A large number of Brethren turned out for the meeting and after general business was discussed the main business was the Election of Officers for 2014.

Most Worshipful Edward Stevenson, Grand Master of Ireland and the County Grand Master of County Tyrone, Worshipful Bro Jim Emery, were in attendance together with Wor. Bro. George Duddy, Past Master of County Londonderry and two members from Coleraine District.

The Grand Master of Ireland, MWB Stevenson carried out the election of officers with WB Emery in the Deputy’s Chair.

The election of officers took place as follows: City Grand Master, Rt Wor Bro James Hetherington and Deputy City Grand Master, Wor Bro Maurice Devenney.

City Grand Chaplain, Wor Bro Rev Ivan Dinsmore, and Deputies Wor Bro Rev Mervyn Lindsay and Wor Bro Rev John Noble, and Lay Chaplain, Wor Bro William Jamieson.

City Grand Secretary, Wor Bro Ernest McCay: Deputy, Wor Bro Stephen Burns; Assistant Deputy, Wor Bro Gary Middleton.

City Grand Treasurer, Wor Bro William Wray and Deputy, Wor Bro Donald Eakin.

City Grand Lecturer, Wor Bro George Hunter and Deputy, Wor Bro Kenneth Kincaid.

Tyler, Wor Bro David McKeegan; CG Chief Marshal, Wor Bro Allister Gault; CG Director of Ceremonies, Wor Bro George Wylie MBE TD; CG Standard Bearer, Wor Bro Alwyn Hogg and CG Press Officer, Rt Wor Bro Victor Wray.

The vote of thanks was proposed by WB Devennny, seconded by WB George Hunter and was extended to MWB Edward Stevenson by the City Grand Master, who said it was great to have the Grand Master of Ireland in Londonderry and to carry out the election of officers and he welcomed and thanked the other visitors, and Bro Stevenson Bro Emery and Bro Duddy suitably replied.
