City museums are popular attractions

TENS of thousands of visitors are using Londonderry's publicly funded museum's each year.

The Tower Museum is the most popular with 27,039 visitors in 2007 and 25,880 visitors in 2008.

Fewer people used the Harbour Museum with 3,166 visiting in 2007 and 4,084 in 2008.

The data for 2009/10 has not yet been received centrally by the Northern Ireland Museums Council and is not yet available.

The details were released in response to a query from DUP MLA Gregory Campbell at the Stormont Assembly.
