Civil marriages on increase
THE number of civil mariage ceremonies celebrated in the Derry City Council area for the first quarter of the current financial year has shown a dramatic increase.
A spokesperson for Derry City Council confirmed that its registry office has noted an increase in the number of civil marriages and partnerships between April and June .
“There were 39 civil marriage and civil partnership ceremonies performed during this three month period noting a increase of almost 25 per cent in comparison to the same quarter last year,” the spokesperson said.
