Clarification: WELB no longer responsible for libraries

IN an article 'Hasty bus rebrand costs WELB £2,700,' Wednesday, April 14, page seven, the Sentinel incorrectly stated that the Western Education and Library Board is still responsible for schools and libraries in Londonderry and the wider western area.

A spokesman for WELB advises that a new Library Authority was established in April 2009 assuming the relevant responsibilities from the Education and Library Boards.

The Sentinel report revealed a delay in the implementation of the Education and Skills Authority (ESA) and has resulted in WELB having to fork out 2,700 to replace logos on its fleet of school buses.
