Come along to Claudy Country Park on Saturday 16th March from 1.00pm-3.00pm to learn and experience the wildlife of the woodlands as well as folklore and magic of Spring. Visitors will be guided through the woods on a heritage trail and can visit the walled garden to meet Barney the Owl and other large birds of prey. Creggan Country Park and Faughan Valley Landscape Partnership will also be there with children’s activities and games.

Mayor Councillor Kevin Campbell encouraged people to become involved: “Claudy Country Park is a great place to visit at anytime with the adventure playground and woodland and river walks but this 2 hour event on the bank holiday weekend is a great opportunity for kids to learn more about the importance of woodland while having an amazing adventure.”

This is a Faughan Valley Landscape Partnership event organised by Creggan Country Park and funded by the Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme 2007 -2013 through Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Derry City Council and Heritage Lottery Fund.

The Faughan Valley Landscape Partnership Scheme involves a working partnership between RAPID, Derry City Council and the Woodland Trust supported by Heritage Lottery Fund, ‘Landscape Partnerships’. The project vision is to create a vibrant, natural and cultural diverse landscape within the Faughan Valley that the whole community appreciates, and is engaged with, making it a sustainable landscape for living.
