Clean sweep for Dollingstown

Dollingstown Orangemen and bandsmen had an impressive July, bringing home a large haul of silverware at showpiece events.

Dollingstown LOL No. 62 and Dollingstown Star of the North Flute Band took a clean sweep of trophies at Lower Iveagh West No. 8 district’s Mini-Twelfth parade in Moira where they won Best Lodge and Band on Parade.

At the Mini-Twelfth parade in Lurgan, Dollingstown band won Best Band on Parade and to put the icing on the cake at the County Down Twelfth demonstration in Loughbrickland they were again awarded with the trophy for Best Lodge and Band on Parade.

Lodge spokesman Bro Bruce Kidd said it was great to see the band being rewarded for the hard work they had put in throughout the year and congratulated all who had been involved.

The band hold their practice every Monday night at 7pm in Dollingstown Orange Hall and anyone of all ages who would like to learn the flute or drum would be made very welcome.
