It is hoped this will drive retail sales and contribute to an increase in footfall in urban centres.

The programme has been designed in response to the dramatic growth in recent years of online trading within the retail sector and will identify new selling opportunities for local businesses.

Speaking at the programme launch, Cllr Darryn Causby, Lord Mayor of Armagh City Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council said: “Over recent years, the independent retail sector has been affected by the rise of Internet trading, however recent research has indicated that where High Street retailers have offered a ‘Click and collect’ service, those businesses, together with surrounding retailers have benefitted with increases in sales of at least 15%.

The programme will include workshops led by experts in the field of digital trading, one to one mentoring and development of tailored action plans for each participating retailer.

There are places for over 40 independent retailers and the vision is to create a new innovative sales channel and financial benefit to the local economy. For further information please contact Barbara Orr of Full Circle Management Solutions Ltd at 02890 691027 or email [email protected]
