Clients help firm raise £700 for Hospice

During the two-week fundraising period last month, clients were invited to make a donation to the Hospice in lieu of their will making fee. And thanks to the efforts of solicitor David Kernaghan and his colleagues, Reavey & Company raised the fantastic total of £700.

Sharon Gorman, NI Hospice donor officer said: “We would like to extend our sincere thanks to David Kernaghan and the local community for supporting this campaign. Their immense generosity is really appreciated as it will enable us to fund seven nights of hospice care in patients’ own homes across the province.

“With increased demands on the service, an ageing population and annual running costs of over £9million, Hospice’s reliance on gifts in wills is more crucial than ever. In fact, this year one in five of our patients will receive hospice care as a result of gifts left in wills.”

Mr Kernaghan added: “Northern Ireland Hospice is a charity at the heart of the local community and we were delighted to support their Make a Will Fortnight campaign and to raise such a substantial donation.

“Writing a will is the most important thing you can do to protect your family and loved ones. This initiative offered the local community an ideal opportunity to plan ahead for their loved ones whilst supporting such a worthy local charity.”
