Cllr Paul Michael elected UUP branch chair

Members of all UUP branches from across South Antrim came together for their annual general meeting on January 29, where the new branch chair was elected.

Guest speaker was Lord Empey, chairman of the UUP, who also conducted the election of officers for the coming year.

Cllr Paul Michael, Assembly candidate in May’s election, was unanimously elected to the position of chairman of south Antrim, which also gives him a position on the Ulster Unionist ruling executive.

Cllr Michael said: “I am truly honoured to be elected to such high office in South Antrim and receive support from grassroots members as well as all elected members, including our MP, Danny Kinahan.”
