Clock must work for Remembrance Day

Alderman Stephen Moutray hopes the clock on Waringstown War Memorial will be working for Remembrance Sunday.

“It would appear that this is an issue which lies with Northern Ireland Electricity connecting the clock to the electricity supply,” he said. “Having spoken with council who recently restored the clock it would appear that NIE who were going to connect it to the overhead power lines have now decided to connect it via underground cables which is taking somewhat longer to do.”

Mr Moutray hopes a temporary supply will be on by Sunday, November 10.
