Closure of Shipquay Street

Motorists are advised that one lane of Shipquay Street will be closed from the Diamond in the direction of Shipquay Gate over the next few days in order to facilitate the completion of the Christmas lights installation.

Traffic restrictions will be in place from 3pm this afternoon,Thursday, November 29, until Saturday, December 1, at 5pm.

Motorists wishing to travel onto Shipquay Street from the Diamond will be directed along Ferryquay Street, Carlisle Rd and John Street to the Foyle Embankment in the direction of the City.

Council advises that traffic may be heavier than usual in the City centre due to these restrictions and apologises for any inconvenience caused. Further updates shall be provided should the situation change.
