Cloughmills fun day aids Angel Eyes NI

A Fun Day was held at Patton’s Car Park on Friday 18th August in aid of a charity called Angel Eyes NI.

This is a charity which was set up by parents of blind and partially sighted children in Northern Ireland.

As the organisation receives no funding from the Government it relies completely on support from the public.

Families whose children are affected with eye conditions rely on Angel Eyes for on-going support regarding education, research and all aspects of life as a blind or partially sighted person.

The day was organised by Sam Elliott whose daughter Brooke Leigh was born last year with a condition called Aniridia. Sam worked tirelessly behind the scenes and raised an outstanding amount of £1805 to donate to Angel Eyes NI.

Activities on the day included a bouncy castle, birds of prey show, reptile show, face painting, BBQ, cake stall, duck race and much more.

Thanks go to Mr. Denis Moore for use of the premises at Patton’s Bar, Burns’ Butchers for their kind donation of BBQ products and to Cloughmills Community Action team for their support.

Due to the success of this Fun Day, Sam now plans to hold another event next year in aid of Royal National Institute for the Blind.
