Cloughmills raises £735 in memory of Pauline

Organised by Donal Martin, the McDonald family and the Cloughmills Community Action Team the Family Fun Day was in memory of Pauline McDonald who was a very popular member of the local Boys and Girls Football Club before her fatal accident.

Since then over £3,600 has been raised in Pauline’s memory for a number of health related charities and this year’s collection, after consultation with the McDonald family, has been donated to the Frocess Medical Centre to purchase medical equipment to benefit the community.

Dr McCurdy from the Frocess Medical Centre said: “We are completely blown away by the scale of this generous donation and would like to thank all those who contributed to it and the McDonald family for so kindly choosing us. We really do appreciate all the hard work put in by everyone to make the day such a success.”

Organiser, Donal Martin, also added his thanks to the local community who, as always, came out in force to raise the vital funds.

He added: “The entire community have pulled together to remember Pauline over the last decade.

“I’d like to thank the McDonald Family for their support during this time and to all involved with the Boys and Girls Football Club, the Cloughmills Community Action Team, the Golden Oldies as well as the local businesses who have generously provided raffle prizes and all the helpers who have supported each event”.
