Hide AdMr Hill, the new Principal, invited Mrs Janice Barr to school assembly to explain the reason for the donations.
Janice explained how the charity ‘Charlene’s Project’ had been started by her daughter Charlene when she had been unable to attend school due to severe complications with her cystic fibrosis.
Charlene realised how privileged she had been to receive a free education and wanted to use her time to help provide education for children in Uganda where she had visited in 2008.
This was Charlene’s project for the remainder of her short life. Just as the first school was to be built Charlene died. Her Family has continued the project she started and with the help of others Charlene‘s dream continues.
