CoC2013 campaign will sell city to all major markets

A MARKETING campaign to promote Londonderry UK City of Culture 2013 across all major markets will raise the profile and positive awareness of the city, drive tourism numbers and maximise awareness of the city as an investment location.

Tourism Minister Arlene Foster said she was confident that the Northern Ireland Tourism Board (NITB) and Tourism Ireland marketing plans will provide the platform to promote Londonderry as the UK City of Culture across all of our major markets.

“The marketing plans aim to raise the profile and positive awareness of Londonderry, drive tourism numbers and maximise awareness of Londonderry as an investment location,” she stated.

“The array of events recently announced covering theatre, music, dance, visual arts, architecture and film will have a wide appeal for all our potential visitors,” she added.

“The news that Londonderry has been named the fourth best city in the world to visit next year by Lonely Planet is an important accolade and provides a further marketing opportunity for the city in 2013,” she concluded.
