The 19 lights which will be purchased from funds raised from the event, will change the lives of 19 girls.

The global movement is committed to a world where women and girls together achieve their individual and collective potential aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong, peacful communities worldwide.

Jillian is paticulary eager to help girls and young women in rural Zambia when she heard of the long distances they have to travel to school each day.

Having already endured the long treks home after lessons, many young girls are unable to do their homework as they dont have access to electricity for light.

This image of young girls not being able to read books struck a chord with Jillian and was the catalyst behind the founding of ‘Lurgan Lights’.

Thanks to the project the lives of many young girls in Zambia have been improved.
