Coffee morning in Maxine’s memory

THE Health Visiting Team based in Lurgan recently held a coffee morning in memory of their friend and colleague Maxine McKeown.

Maxine died on May 14 after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Tom and their two daughters, Megan aged nine and Sarah aged five.

The family requested that donations in lieu of flowers would be given to the Ulster Cancer Foundation – Children Bereavement Services.

The coffee morning was a huge success and was widely attended by Southern Trust staff. The Health Visiting Team had the privilege of presenting a cheque for £470 to Suzie McIlwain from the Ulster Cancer Foundation.

Bronagh Shields, Health Visiting Team Manager, said: “We were delighted that Maxine’s husband, Tom, attended the coffee morning and had the opportunity to meet and talk with a number of Maxine’s colleagues.”

She added: “It was lovely that the team had the opportunity to remember Maxine and provide this substantial contribution to Children Bereavement Services at the Ulster Cancer Foundation.”
