Coffee morning raises funds for Uganda trip

Supporting Uganda 2016 Coffee Morning at Waringstown Church of Ireland Hall were Sarah Patterson, Anna Wylie and Sarah Wylie with Ulster Unionist Assembly Candidates Jo-Anne Dobson and Kyle Savage.

Sarah Wylie and Sarah Patterson, who organised the event, will travel as part of a team to Uganda to help the local community.

Local Ulster Unionist Assembly Candidate Jo-Anne Dobson, supported the coffee morning.

She commented after attending: “When young people step forward with a goal of helping to improve the life experiences of people half way around the world, it’s always deserving of our support.

“This is a super opportunity for both Sarahs to make a real and lasting difference in a country where the people have so little and I wish them both every success.

“It was also great to see additional tables having to be brought out in our Church Hall and to accommodate the crowd!

“Well done to everyone who helped out in any way for all their hard work which made the morning such a success.”

Ulster Unionist Assembly candidate Kyle Savage was also in attendance at the coffee morning.

Uganda is a country with a particular affinity for many parishes and people in Ireland.

Sometimes referred to as the ‘Pearl of Africa’, Uganda is the second largest Anglican province in the world.

The Church of Uganda can boast more than nine million members.
