Coke, speed and dope recovered during 97 jail searches
COCAINE, opiates, speed and cannabis were amongst drugs recovered during 97 searches at Magilligan jail over the past three years, it has been revealed.
Justice Minister David Ford revealed amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, buprenorphine, cannabinoids, cocaine, opiates, steroids and non-specified drugs were uncovered during the searches between 2009 and 2011.
The number of drugs finds as a result of searches of prisoners, prison cells and property was 42 in 2009; 27 in 2010; and 28 in 2011.
