Coleraine all set for Halloween Hooley!

THE pumpkins have been carved in anticipation of ghostly goings on, eerie entertainment and frightening-good fancy dress in Coleraine this Halloween.

Coleraine Borough Council has lined up a fang-tastic programme of events to celebrate the scariest night of the year in style - with generous support of Coleraine's Specsavers Opticians.

The hair raising evening of entertainment gets underway on Saturday, October 30 from 7pm at The Diamond and includes everything from live music to street entertainment and a stunning fireworks finale.

And what's more….it's all free!

Prepare to be spellbound by a feast of female tribute acts featuring Amy Winehouse, Rihanna, Pixie Lott, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Dolly Parton, whilst the children's fancy dress competition is certain to attract the scariest little monsters in town.

Spooktacular street theatre and gruesome characters will haunt the streets of Coleraine provided by local Heritage Stories group, whilst fire jugglers and balloon modelers captivate the crowds.

The evening's creepy goings-on will close with a spectacular freaky fireworks display at 8.30pm, which can be best viewed from Hanover Place or Christie Park.

This Halloween event is complemented by a wider entertainments programme for the borough.

Atlantic Sessions on the North Coast will see popular folk music performances in pubs and eateries in Portrush and Portstewart from Thursday, October 28 to Sunday, October 31.

Portballintrae hosts their 5th Annual Halloween extravaganza on those same dates in their new Community Hall.

The British Championship and Home International Surf Kayaking Competition will provide some excitement for outdoors enthusiasts at the East Strand Beach, Portrush from Monday to Sunday, October 25 to 31.
