Coleraine and Portrush rewarded in Translink Ulster in Bloom Awards

NORTHERN Ireland’s top gardening talent has been officially recognised at the 2011 Translink Ulster in Bloom awards presentation.

Local councils, businesses, community groups, bus and rail stations were presented with special awards for their efforts to improve the appearance of their areas using beautiful floral and plant displays.

Portrush’s Antrim Gardens won a special award with Coleraine picking up a gong for best town.

Speaking at the awards presentation in the Beech Hill Country House Hotel in Derry, Simon Corrigan, Translink Western Area Manager, said: “Congratulations to all the winners and we hope their efforts inspire others to get involved in gardening and participate in the 2012 Ulster in Bloom Competition.”
