Coleraine College principal is'extremely proud' of efforts

COLERAINE college principal, Shane Laverty has congratulated his pupils on their GSCE results.

He said that he was ‘extremely proud’ of the achievements of the students.

46.4 percent of Coleraine College students achieved A* to C grades in five or more subjects, while over 80.4% gained A* to E grades in five or more subjects.

“The school has continued to make excellent progress,” said Mr Laverty.

“The hard work and effort of the students and staff has once again paid dividends.

“This college has a bright future ahead with the increased pupil intake, up by 25% on last year, the refurbished school buildings and the wide range of subject options available to students at KS3 and KS4.

“We as a school, centred in the community, have focused on the promotion of a positive, Christian ethos.

“I am extremely proud of the achievements of our pupils, and the faith that their parents put in us as an educational establishment.

“We want to create a college in which the people of Coleraine can be justifiably proud. We have taken another small step in achieving that vision – teaching, learning and caring together.”

Prospective sixth form pupils can contact the college on 70357000 to discuss their future educational requirements.
