The festive fairs in November and December will showcase a range of beautiful products created by budding business owners who have recently completed the innovative ‘Journey To Market’ programme run by Coleraine Borough Council, which was part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland.

The programme participants now have a chance to show their products to the local community at Flowerfield Arts Centre on November 15 (10am – 3pm), Portstewart Town Hall on November 22 (10am to 4pm) and at the Diamond Centre in Coleraine on December 13 (9am- 5pm).

The craft products have ranged from ceramics and bridal accessories to textiles and prints of Irish dancers. The food makers have come up with a delicious selection including gluten free patisserie, healthy oat smoothies, baked goods from a bygone era and speciality cakes.

Mayor of Coleraine, Councillor David Harding said: “This is a great chance to come along and see what local people are creating right here in our community. There are some very exciting companies that will definitely be going places. I hope people will visit to one of these three free events and the wonderful food and crafts made right here in Coleraine.”

Des Gartland, Invest NI’s North West Regional Manager said: “There is a wealth of talent in this area and this diverse range of new businesses shows that getting the right support at the right time can be hugely beneficial to entrepreneurs.

The Council will be running this programme in the new year. Anyone interested in taking part in the Journey to Market programme should contact Lara Goodall on 07793 388 343, [email protected]
