Coleraine death‘not suspicious’

P olice have ruled out foul play in the sudden death of a man in Coleraine.

The 46-year-old man - named locally as Stephen Johnston - collapsed outside a residential premises in the Strand Road area of the town just before 4am on Saturday.

He was taken to Causeway Hospital for head injuries, but was later pronounced dead.

Following the incident police cordoned off the scene for the entire weekend.

Two people were arrested and questioned.

On Sunday, police said the man’s death was found not to be suspicious following the results of a post-mortem examination.

It is now understood MrJohnston, had suffered a heart attack. The two people arrested have since been released, police confirmed.
